The last few weeks have been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster for me and when I’m feeling particularly stressed with real world struggles, I like to give myself a break by tuning into a favourite TV show for a few hours.
There’s nothing better than a ‘feel good’ show that makes you laugh, smile and take your mind of things for a while.
Here are a few of my favourites that are currently on Netflix that I hope will also make you laugh so much that your belly hurts the next time you’re in need of some warm and fuzzies.
How could you go wrong with a classic? You can easily escape into the ten seasons of the show and enjoy all the Friends funny moments. This show is a favourite of mine, there isn’t a bad day that an episode of Friends can’t fix. I love putting this show on when I need a pick-me-up, it’s also perfect for background noise when your busy working away or cleaning the house.
If you’re not binge watching Gilmore Girls, then you should get on it! This show is typically light, packed with pop culture references and is very funny. Gilmore Girls is such a wholesome show and it’s hard not to fall in love with the characters and the cute little town the show takes place in. I really love the mother-daughter bond that Rory and Lorelei have – their conversations are always funny and full of wit.
In the same way that Mindy Kalings character loves Rom-Coms, I love the Mindy Project. The shows never-ending love triangles, hilarious gags and all-too-relatable moments keep me watching again and again.
Sometimes you just want to watch a family love each other and make hilarious mistakes. This sitcom will always get you to laugh and smile by delivering both things. Every dysfunctional, hilarious episode always end with a non-sappy happy ending.
Filling the hole that Friends left, this sitcom also features cohabitating buddies always on the cusp of getting their life’s together without quite making it across the finishing line.
Married life is hard, especially when the couple in question runs a business together. What really throws a spanner into the marriage of real estate agents Joel and Sheila Hammond, however, is the sudden appetite for human flesh. The newly-zombified Shelia is a bit more vivacious, but her constant hunger for flesh forces the couple to hunt for ‘deserving’ victims while also balancing the responsibilities of everyday life. Funny and frequently gory, Santa Clarita Diet is a black comedy that breathes new life into the suburban sitcom formula.
I would love to hear what your favourite feel good shows are to watch?
