Occasion outfits
Sorority rush outfits: what to wear each round
Short answer
Rush attire usually gets dressier each round. Early rounds are casual, a philanthropy round often means a sundress or a provided t-shirt, a sisterhood round is nicer, and preference night is the most formal. Rules differ by school, so read your Panhellenic council's attire section first. Plan for walking, repeat basics across rounds, and order early, since most PeachSunday styles take 9 to 19 business days to arrive.

| Texas A&M | Go Greek: comfortable clothing. Philanthropy: a light sundress or romper with sandals or flats | Sisterhood: slightly nicer than philanthropy, described as wedding or Sunday Best attire | Semi-formal, the most formal day, with cocktail attire encouraged |
| University of Missouri | Philanthropy: two Panhellenic t-shirts are provided, worn with shorts, skirts or pants | Sisterhood: sundresses, or a nice top with a skirt or pants | Short formal dresses, rompers or pant suits |
| University of Colorado Boulder | Orientation: extremely casual. Second Datebook: the most casual round, dress for brunch | Third Datebook: a little more formal, like an outdoor summer wedding, nice but not cocktail | The most formal round, like graduation or a cocktail attire wedding |
Steps
-
Read your school's attire page
Round names and dress codes differ by campus. Your Panhellenic council's page is the rule.
-
Sort outfits by round
Casual early rounds, a nicer sisterhood round, and the most formal preference night.
-
Choose shoes you can walk in
Sandals or flats suit casual rounds. If you wear heels at preference, bring comfortable shoes to change into.
-
Repeat the basics
A neutral skirt, trousers or dress can come back with a different top.
-
Order early
Most styles take 9 to 19 business days, so order well before recruitment starts.
Check your school's rules first
Attire comes from each school's Panhellenic council, and even the round names change. Texas A&M uses Go Greek, Philanthropy, Sisterhood and Preference Night. Colorado uses Orientation and Datebooks. Missouri lists Philanthropy, Sisterhood, Preference and Bid Day.
If your school's page and this page disagree, follow your school. The three schools in the table are examples of a common pattern, not a national rule.
How the dress code climbs
All three pages describe the same arc. Early rounds are casual, a middle round asks for slightly nicer clothes, and preference is the most formal. Texas A&M says chapters do not score you on what you wear, and Missouri says the most important thing is that you feel comfortable throughout.
Colorado's page tells recruits to dress appropriately for hot weather, so check the forecast for your recruitment week.
The philanthropy round
Missouri's Panhellenic Association provides two t-shirts for this round, and recruits pair them with shorts, skirts or pants. Texas A&M suggests a light sundress or romper, the kind of dress you would wear to brunch with friends.
If your school hands out a shirt, plan the bottoms and shoes and leave the top to the council.
Outfits you can repeat across rounds
You do not need a new outfit for every round. A neutral skirt or trousers, a simple sundress and one dressier dress cover most schedules, and a different top, belt or jewelry changes the look.
Colorado's page says to plan your outfits in advance but does not give a number. Count the rounds on your own schedule and work from there.
Shoes for walking
Texas A&M names sandals or flats for philanthropy and heels, wedges or sandals for sisterhood. Missouri suggests comfortable footwear in the philanthropy round and, if you wear heels at preference, a comfortable pair to change into.
None of the three pages mention white clothing. If your school's rules do, follow them.
Order timing
Most PeachSunday styles arrive in 9 to 19 business days, including 3 to 7 business days to pack. Styles marked Ships from the USA take 5 to 12 business days. Every product page shows an estimated delivery date, and the shipping time guide shows how to count back from a start date.
US clothing can be returned within 7 days of delivery, unworn and with tags on, so try things on the day they arrive.
Shop the look
Start with dresses and midi dresses, add a skirt for the middle rounds, and pick sandals for walking.

Can I wear jeans to rush?
The pages we read suggest dresses, skirts, shorts or pants in the early rounds and do not list jeans either way. Check your school's page or ask your recruitment counselor.
What do I wear to the philanthropy round?
Casual. Texas A&M suggests a light sundress or romper with sandals or flats, and Missouri provides t-shirts to wear with shorts, skirts or pants.
Do I need a different outfit every round?
