Satin Slip Dresses

A slip dress reads expensive even when it isn't, because the fabric does the work. Ours are cut on the bias, which is the same trick that makes a $2,000 dress move the way it does: the fabric skims your body instead of gripping it, so it photographs well and feels even better.

Cowl necklines, adjustable straps, and a length that hits right above the knee make these easy to dress up or down. Wear one alone for a night out, layer a cropped cardigan over it when the restaurant runs cold, or wear it under a blazer for a work event that turns into drinks after.

Slip dresses are unforgiving of cheap fabric, which is why so many of them look like pajamas. We stayed away from anything with a plastic hand-feel. What's on this page moves.
