Among the 12 stores read on October 17, 2026, most give 30 days to return an order. Boohoo gives 21, Aritzia gives 14 for a refund to the original payment, and Oh Polly gives 7 for a refund. Fees differ more than windows: some deduct a flat amount from the refund, some are free in stores or with store credit. Check the live policy page before a big order.

The short answer

Thirty days is the common window in this table: Princess Polly, Fashion Nova, Edikted, Hello Molly, Zara, H&M, Old Navy, Forever 21 and Shein all use it. The ones that differ are boohoo at 21 days, Aritzia at 14 days for a refund, and Oh Polly, which sets 7 days for a refund, 14 for an exchange and 28 for store credit.

Each store words the start of the clock differently, so read the next section before you count days on a calendar.

When the clock starts

Most stores count from delivery. Zara counts from the shipment date for online orders, and Aritzia counts from its shipping date, so a slow carrier uses up some of your window. Edikted counts from the purchase date. Forever 21 and boohoo count from the day you receive the order, and H&M says purchase or delivery.

If your order arrives in several packages, check whether the store counts from the last one. ASOS, for example, counts from the final package, though it is not in this table.

What "free returns" can mean

The word covers at least five different arrangements in this table. Zara and H&M are free in their own stores. Aritzia is free by mail when you are signed in. Old Navy waives the $6 fee for rewards members. Shein makes the first return on an order free. Princess Polly waives its $6.95 fee if you take store credit.

Refund or store credit

Fashion Nova and Hello Molly return store credit. Princess Polly, Oh Polly, Edikted, Shein and boohoo let you pick between the original payment and credit, and some add a bonus: Oh Polly adds 10% (up to $25) when you choose credit within 7 days of delivery, and boohoo adds 20%. Zara, H&M, Forever 21 and Old Navy refund to the original payment.

If you will shop at the store again, a bonus makes credit worth a look. If you might not, take the refund.

Final sale and hygiene items

The lists are similar everywhere: swimwear, underwear and lingerie, earrings and other pierced jewelry, cosmetics, and anything marked Final Sale. Several stores allow swimwear back only with the hygiene seal or strip intact, so try swimwear on over your own underwear and leave the seal in place until you are sure.

Sale pricing can change the rules too. Oh Polly takes sale items back for credit or exchange only, Aritzia treats items marked 50% off or more as final, and Forever 21 lists clearance as final sale.
